Kristina Cooper (#mfc 33659)

Kristina Speer Cooper is a Licensed California Marriage Family Therapist with many years of experience working with families who are experiencing stress and pain related to divorce, child custody, and co-parenting. Her practice has specialized in the area of Divorce Recovery and helping families and individuals move forward toward health after the trauma of divorce.

Kristina spent 6 years working for the Visitation Center of Family Service Agency where she provided Therapeutic Supervised Visitation for children and their non-custodial parents. Kristina has worked with children, teenagers, and adults through her many years of practice. Kristina is a graduate of the Santa Clara University School of Counseling Psychology with an M.A. degree in psychology.

Kristina was previously trained as an elementary school teacher at the University of Nevada and previously taught First Grade. Kristina decided to become a Family Therapist while working as a school teacher and witnessing the stress suffered by children who were experiencing dysfunction in their families. Kristina has enjoyed a long career including work at for Santa Clara County Mental Health, Santa Clara County Dept of Alcohol and Drugs, Justice Services Division. Kristina worked for 3 years as a psychotherapist at Charter Behavioral Health psychiatric hospital.

Kristina is a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the American Association of Marriage Family Therapists (AAMFT).
